Andrew Jevne

Andrew is an Edmonton-based photographer who works primarily (but not exclusively) in black & white.  Largely self-taught, Andrew has been influenced by the style and sensibilities of long exposure photographers such as Michael Kenna, Hengki Koentjoro, and many others  who also draw inspiration from the intersection of man-made and natural structures: water, land, cities and buildings.

Born and raised in central Alberta, Andrew has a deep connection with the Canadian prairies. He favours long exposure images (usually over three minutes) which draw out the essential elements of the environment,  emphasizing the minimalism and simple geometry of the landscapes,  while diminishing the distracting components ... such as colour.

Andrew shoots both digital and large format film photography. His work has been displayed in fine art publications and was most recently displayed at the FotoFest 2022 art exhibition in Baytown Texas. Look for his work at local venues as well.
